Phillips Avenue Elementary School

​Phillips Avenue Elementary School is one of four K-4 elementary schools in the district. It is located at 141 Phillips Avenue in Flanders. (Directions to the Phillips Avenue School) Phillips has a full day kindergarten program, a Universal Pre-Kindergarten, a dual language program, a bilingual class, a self-contained special education class and a resource room.
     Debra Rodgers is the Principal and Dr. Stephen Hudson is the Associate Principal at the Phillips Avenue School.

     Phillips Avenue is an annual winner of the Suffolk Reading Council Honor School and a past recipient of a 21st Century Grant. The school is also the recipient of a "Creative Classroom Collaboratives (C3) Grant".
      Popular annual events include the Halloween Parade, Reading Week, Story Night, and the district-wide Terri Peters Science Fair. Phillips celebrates fully the diversity of its students through events like the school's Diversity Day, Black History Month and Latin American celebrations. The students and staff also care for others inside and outside their immediate community. Phillips Avenue teachers go the extra mile to obtain grants to help finance the expenses for special classroom projects, field trips and programs.
